The Birth of a New Badger

Yes, a new badger is born: a Killer Badger.

The popularity of my hot rod and muscle car illustrations has grown faster than I could have imagined when I started freelance work four years ago. It's become so strong that I've recently decided to split out that part of my business into its own entity.

The result? The Killer Badger Illustration Studio.

It just makes sense to me that my traditional illustration work should be marketed separately from the rather specialized field of hot rod and custom car illustration. I'm not going to sacrifice one for the other - in fact keeping both segments operating at full tilt is what makes the Agile Badger so agile.

The image you see here marks the new look of my hot rod business. In the next month or so, I'll be launching a new website with my snarling little friend here as the gate keeper on the landing page. It's going to be a showcase of full-throttle, tire-smokin', red-line-revvin' hot rods.

Now back to the drawing board.

Hey Badger. I really love that new badger brad. If it was a cola I'd drink it! If it was a beer, I'd drink a lot of it! :P

Most especially I like the curl stuff around "Badger" and the badger illustration chewing on the "illustration" banner/ribbon.

Did you use illustrator for some or most of that? It's very crisp and clean.

Thanks, Matto. I drew everything in pencil first, then scanned it into PS and placed it into an Illustrator file. I then used the pen tool to draw around all the lines. For the "Badger" title, I imported the vector file into Swift3D and made a 3D model out of the outlines. I played around to get the neat lighting and perspective effects. Everything else is just good old fashioned Illustrator work.
